Discovering the power of the Gonzaga family
Starting from the Lake Garda, we will cross the Morainic hills to reach Mantua, one of the Italian cities listed on the UNESCO World Heritage sites.
We will start to visit the two main squares of the old town centre: Piazza Sordello that became the fulcrum of the political power of the Gonzaga family and Piazza delle Erbe that was the main square during the Middle Ages.
We will visit the Cathedral of Sant'Andrea, one of the masterpieces of Leon Battista Alberti, with its facade inspired by the Roman triumphal arches.
Then we will walk to the Palazzo Ducale to visit the Painted Chamber decorated by Andrea Mantegna during the years from 1565 to 1574.
This trip will end with a light lunch with tastings of typical dishes accompanied by a glass of Lambrusco di Mantova Wine.
💰 PRICE: 70 € per person (Palazzo Ducale ticket and light lunch, with traditional Tortelli with pumpkin tasting, included)
